Ann Riverfront Quilting

Ann Lind, Owner

I moved to Juneau, Alaska as a young adult and worked in the legal profession for 20 years. Two months shy of 40 years old, I birthed a beautiful baby girl the medical profession told me that I would never have. My career quickly changed to the raising of children. I operated a home based childcare for 7 years. Foster care was my next adventure and boy has it been a ride. We have adopted 3 children - a girl and 2 boys. I do believe my foster care career is over.. maybe.  UPDATE - it is far from over.  I currently have 6 children i my care.  My 2 boys, a middle school sibling group of 2 and a 17 year old.  I am also an Emergency Shelter for neonate babies.  This space isn't filled often, but I currently have a baby in my care.

December 2018, I took my 2 daughters to a Diva Wallet sewing class at Raintree Quilting. It was there that I saw the Snowman Runner! I signed up for a that class and have never looked back. Prior to COVID, it was a joke that I moved in and took up residence at my local quilt shop. I took many, many classes, made many, many quilts and bought 2 Bernina sewing machines and a Bernina serger.

I was highly encouraged to quilt for a living. During the fall of 2021, I was led in a definite direction to pursue quilting for others as a next career.  I added a Bernina Q24 on a pro frame with a Qmatic to my sewing studio.

Almost 3 years later, I love what I do.  I enjoy working with clients to pick out quilt patterns and thread color.  I love seeing all the beautiful quilts come through my studio and living vicariously through them.  As you can imagine, the longarm quilter has very little time to work on piecing my own quilts.  But I manage to get a fair number pieced every year.

With this experience behind me and the drive to excel, I am ready and confident to help others turn their hard work to cozy comfort.

Riverfront Quilting

Riverfront Quilting is a high tech computerized longarm quilting service.  I use a Bernina Q24 on a pro frame with a QMatic.

My mission is provide quality longarm quilting with fast turn around time.  The biggest complaint I have heard is that it takes months to get a quilt back from the longarm quilter.

I use OMNI thread which is included in the price of the quilting.  You are welcome to provide the batting of your choice.  I do recommend a high quality 100% or 80/20 cotton batting.  I would ask that you shy away from 100% polyester.

Contact me when your quilt top is finished - or with those stacks of UFOs - so we can bring your art to life.
